🎙️ Launching the “Making Finance Fun” Podcast

One of the biggest highlights was launching our brand-new podcast: Making Finance Fun – created with the brilliant Clive from Ireland.

We’ve always believed that finance doesn’t need to be boring, and this podcast is our way of bringing energy, humour, and real-world insight into the conversation. The feedback has been amazing, the views have been flying in, and honestly… it’s just been a blast to record.

💻 Syft Analytics Keynote Talk

I was honoured to be invited by the team at Syft Analytics to deliver a keynote session for their quarterly update – all about how we use their reporting software in our own workflows and how firms can harness data to build better client conversations.

It’s always a privilege to speak to other professionals about what’s working (and what’s not!) in the world of tech-powered finance.

📍 Digital Accountancy Show 2024, London

I spent a few days soaking up insights and caffeine at the Digital Accountancy Show 2024. Think: automation, AI, tech stacks, and future-forward tools – all focused on helping firms do better work, faster.

A real highlight was finally meeting Jason Staats – someone I’ve followed online for ages. He flew over from the US to deliver some brilliant sessions on improving client service using AI. Top bloke, great thinker, and it was a pleasure to connect.

🎩 Peaky Blinders Party with Ascot Group

April also included something a little more… theatrical.

I was lucky enough to be invited to the Ascot Group’s 20th Anniversary Party on the Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare – themed around Peaky Blinders. Now, if you know me, you’ll know dressing up isn’t exactly my thing… but with a flat cap on and a pint in hand, I got into the spirit. My wife came too, and we had an absolute blast.

👨‍💼 Seven New Clients (and Counting)

We also welcomed seven new clients to the business in April – a brilliant mix of industries and personalities, including:

• Three in financial services
• One in construction
• And a seriously talented videographer – shout out to Weathered Oak in Weston-super-Mare. Their work is next-level, and I’m excited to see where that partnership goes.

It’s always exciting to see our community grow, and we’re so grateful for the trust our clients place in us.

⚙️ Behind the Scenes: Big IT upgrades

Behind closed doors, we’ve been working with the legend that is Kev from Kev’s IT on a major internal IT infrastructure project. We kicked off the planning in April, and it’s already starting to come together.

More on that soon – but let’s just say, it’s a game-changer for how we run things in-house.
