Meetings, Meetings, Meetings!
As we survived through the January tax season, the diary then started to fill up with more in-person meetings. I truly believe that the best way to build a rapport and deliver a first class accountancy service is to spend time with your clients and to get to know them as much as possible. I was fortunate to catch up with my web developer, a couple of business consultant clients, an optometrist and my mortgage advisor!

New Clients
Another five clients have shown their faith in trusting us to manage their accountancy and tax affairs! Among them include a recruitment business, property management company and a consultant from the med-tech industry.
London
I spent a few days in our capital city, catching up with clients and strategising for future business growth. Spending the evening with a couple of Aussies in the heart of Soho was an experience not to be forgotten 🙂

Profitable Bookkeeping Conference
I was very honoured do have been asked to do a little talk for my first ever Profitable Bookkeeping Conference. I focused on how to price a brand new client, after having a fair amount of experience over the last few years…! Still a topic to learn lots from – I don’t think anyone will ever master the technique perfectly, but the feedback during the conference was fantastic and I hope to return next year!

Xero HQ
I was invited back to Xero HQ at Milton Keynes!! The guys at Xero put on a special event for some of their “Partner Success” firm owners with the main topic about mergers and acquisitions – specifically on buying another accountancy practice. The sessions were incredibly insightful with some powerful case studies from people who have gone through acquisitions, to an M&A specialist (James Gosling from AJ Chambers) talking through the pros and cons of this strategy. And of course, an obligatory selfie was sneakily taken in the reception area….

We Won An Award!
We managed to win an award 🙂 M&A Today awarded us with their Leading Chartered Accountant award for 2024. Another huge recognition for us and validation for all of the hard work that we put in day in, day out for each and every one of our clients.

Kittens
And finally, our household ended up temporarily fostering a few kittens as part of the work that we do for Little Paws Rescue. The little rascals took their time to feed properly, but they were soon running round our house causing carnage!
