January 2022

New month, new year and a renewed surge of energy after a much-needed Christmas break with the family. Here was my stunning frosty view as I undertook the first walk to the office of 2022:

New clients

Well, it was most certainly an interesting start to 2022! Even before setting foot in the office after the festive break, there were two signed proposals waiting for us to start the onboarding process 🤯 And the rest of the month didn’t relent; among the new additions to the NDC family were a software consultancy firm, window cleaner, a retailer of mobility products, an electrician, a nurse and a media production specialist.

Self-Assessment season

We survived! Preparation before Christmas was decent and it was just as well, as a late flurry of new Self-Assessment clients coupled with some delays with HMRC authorisation letters made for an incredibly busy January. All returns were completed before the 31st January deadline and no less than three four-figure tax rebates were obtained for clients 🙏

Xero

NDC has been upgraded 💪 We are now Gold Partners with our preferred accountancy software providers Xero! Staggering as a small, independent business to achieve this within just two years and a real statement of intent from Xero to support our mission to help as many small businesses with their finances as we possibly can.

FSB Awards 2022 FINALIST!

In even more crazy news, we’ve been listed as a finalist in the South West Community category of the 2022 Federation of Small Business (FSB) Awards 🤯 I don’t really know what to say about this…. never in a million years did I think that this business would be mentioned in awards ceremonies; all I’ve ever wanted was to make people understand their finances and to help their businesses grow. We’ll find out in March if we actually win the thing, but I’m so immensely proud whatever the final result 😁
