A little bit of marketing, a little bit of working ON the business in preparation for tax season and some exciting new work with an existing client… Here’s the monthly round-up for July 2022 π€π»
Things are never quiet at NDC HQ and I was extremely fortunate to create two new relationships with professional consultants in July and also a very interesting local Community Interest Company (CIC).
The latter business are involved with dredging the very famous (at least locally) Weston Marine Lake in order to make it suitable for wild simmers to have a bit of a dip and a swim. The work undertaken by a bunch of volunteers has been nothing short of incredible and I am very proud to be involved with helping them with their financial compliance going forwards!
We have some very exciting plans for one of our largest clients – a European-based tech recruitment agency – to provide levels of analysis and insight that they had previously not been aware of.
They came to us asking to understand their margins and break-even points more with a view to sharing this analysis with their internal management team, thus creating potential buy-in and encouragement to hit targets.
The group consists of seven individual companies (and is growing fast!) and so far we have undertaken the following work streams:
There’s a whole lot more to complete, but we are making excellent progress and the feedback has been amazing ππ»
I am on a mission to complete all of our existing client’s 2021/22 Self-Assessment returns in the next few months. This will not be an easy job – we have over 100 to complete – but I have started to send the information collection emails, so if you are lucky enough to have received one then please show us your info! ππ»π
We’ve already made huge progress with getting started and by proactively identifying current year tax opportunities, we’re giving our clients plenty of visibility and options about the future.

You may know that I love a good game of darts after sponsoring and working with two professional darts players. The opportunity to sponsor a brand new darts league local to where I live in Weston-super-Mare was one that I couldn’t resist.
We’ve now got our logo on TV monitors and are being live streamed to Facebook every week for the next few months. It’s also opened up the possibility of working with a US tech company that specialises in darts as a sport – hugely exciting and hopefully more news on that to follow.
Despite having a “shaky” couple of mock exams where he registered scores of around 90 % (terrible right?), Rob’s latest AAT exam score has just been communicated to me = 100% ππ»
Whilst I’d like to think that this has something to do with his manager and mentor(!), I can’t get over how much work and effort he’s applying. His client portfolio is growing and the levels of feedback he’s getting is testament to the output he’s producing, and these exam scores are the icing on the cake.
Great work mate ππ»
For the first time in five years, I went away with the family for a holiday abroad to Majorca!
It’s been a long two and a half years since going full time with the business and the time away was best spent spending time with the family, eating and drinking lots and recharging those batteries.
It was flippin’ hot though as the pictures below show…. π€£
