Monthly Round Up – June 2024

June was a month to remember – one of those “pinch me” months where everything seems to happen all at once. From speaking in front of thousands at Xerocon to finalising our first acquisition, it’s safe to say June had a bit of everything.

Here’s what went down…

🎤 Taking the stage at Xerocon London

Let’s kick off with the biggie: Xerocon.

I was lucky enough to be invited to speak at Xero’s flagship UK event in London, with around 3,000 people in attendance. Still hard to get my head around, to be honest!

Standing up there, representing a small practice from Weston-super-Mare, talking about real-world practice life, growth, and tech… it was surreal, exciting and totally energising. I’ve shared a little teaser of how I kicked off my talk, but the full video is on the way soon (hold me to it!).

🤝 The Acquisition of Poolbridge Accountancy

After months of planning, meetings, and spreadsheets… it’s official:

We’ve acquired Poolbridge Accountancy! 🎉

This move brings 100 new clients into the business and welcomes two brilliant new team members, Jade and Chloe, into the fold. You might’ve spotted them in a few recent photos on LinkedIn – but I’ll be sharing proper intros and bios soon so you can get to know them a little better.

This is a big moment for us, and it marks the start of a new chapter in our journey to grow with purpose and people at the heart of everything.

🆕 Welcoming more new clients

Alongside the acquisition, we also had a steady stream of new client wins throughout June including:

• A digital marketing agency that finally signed on the dotted line after some great chats earlier this year

• A property investment company ready to level up

• Two pubs (because why not 🍻)

• And a recruitment firm based in Bristol – fun fact, this one came via someone I worked with seven or eight years ago. We reconnected on Zoom, and boom – new client. A nice reminder that relationships really do matter.
