Monthly Round Up – September 2024

September was a packed month for us, both in and out of the office! From reaching a major local milestone to meeting clients across the country and welcoming a new face to the team, here’s what went down in the world of our fast-growing, people-first accountancy firm.

We started September with some incredible news – we are now officially the highest Google-rated accountancy firm in Weston-super-Mare! 🎉

After nearly five years of graft, relationship-building and obsessing over client service, this recognition means the world. We’ve worked hard to deliver a modern, personable and commercially-minded service for small businesses, and it’s amazing to see our reviews reflect that.

🎤 Accountex Manchester: innovation, insights & real-life meetings

I spent a couple of days in Manchester for the Accountex North conference – one of the top events for accountants and financial professionals. It was great to dive into the latest tech, trends and tools shaping our industry (and geek out a little too).

I also had the chance to meet a client face-to-face for the first time; a construction recruitment specialist who’s been with us for over a year. There’s nothing better than putting a real handshake to a digital relationship.

🚆 A whirlwind London tour

From Manchester to London, we kept the momentum going with a series of meetings that pushed us forward:

• We caught up with Jack Chitty, a brilliant creative and Instagram influencer doing big things in the design world

• We met with new software partners that we’re planning to integrate into our tech stack (watch this space)

• And we visited the team at Adfin, who are now supporting us with Direct Debit processing – a big win for our back office and client billing experience

👋 Meet Freya – our newest team member!

We’re excited to welcome Freya, who joined us on the 23rd of September and is already settling in like she’s been here for years. Her energy, attention to detail and client-first mindset are already shining through.

We’re building a team of curious, committed and collaborative people – and Freya fits right in.

🎂 Family celebrations galore

Let’s just say September kept the birthday cake industry busy in our household…

• My son, daughter, wife, mother-in-law and dog all celebrated their birthdays

• Oh, and it was also our wedding anniversary

It was a month full of celebration, family time and a few too many slices of cake 🎂🐾💍

September also gave us the chance to give back. I took a call with another accountancy firm looking for guidance on mergers and acquisitions. Based on our own recent experiences, I was able to share insights and help them navigate the process with confidence. Collaboration over competition ALWAYS.

Wrapping Up

From industry events and client growth to birthdays and big milestones, September 2024 was one for the books. We’re proud of the progress we’re making – not just as a firm, but as a team that genuinely loves what we do.
